Mount Sinai - True Mexican Taste

Mount Sinai - True Mexican Taste at 3700 Eglinton Ave W Unit 61, Mississauga, ON L5M 2R9, Canada, is one of those rare locations where food feels both authentic and welcoming. Calling +1 905-569-2600 to reserve a table or order ahead is quick and easy, but honestly, stepping inside the restaurant is part of the charm. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere hits you with the warm colors and aromas of Mexico, creating an experience that already feels like a trip abroad.

The menu brings together a thoughtful selection of traditional Mexican dishes that highlight freshness and flavor. Tacos are clearly a favorite here, served on soft tortillas and filled generously with meats like carnitas, chicken tinga, or spicy beef, all topped with vibrant salsas. The enchiladas are another must-try, baked in a rich sauce that strikes the right balance between tangy and savory. On one visit, I tried their burrito stuffed with rice, beans, and tender chicken, and it felt like a complete meal that left me full without being heavy. Guests often mention in reviews how the guacamole tastes freshly made, with just the right amount of lime and cilantro.

What sets this restaurant apart is consistency. Unlike many places that sometimes struggle with seasoning or portion sizes, this kitchen manages to keep flavors spot-on every single time. Food experts often emphasize that true Mexican cooking relies on layering flavors—chilies, herbs, lime, and slow-cooked meats—and this is exactly the method applied here. Prices are fair for the quality and portions, which adds to the trust customers place in this spot.

From my experience, whether you’re dining in with family, grabbing a quick lunch, or exploring new restaurant locations around Mississauga, Mount Sinai delivers on its promise of true Mexican taste. It’s not just a meal—it’s a flavorful journey that makes you want to come back and try every dish on the menu.

I ordered the Chicken Tinga and Birria Tacos and both were super tasty. The churros were not good but the dip that came with them was actually nice. The place is 100 percent halal which is a big plus. Only thing is there was just one lady working there. She was taking orders, handling payments and serving everything by herself. She seemed a bit distracted which made the service a little slow. But overall the food was worth it.

Incredible Mexican food! We got the Chicken Birria, Lamb Birria & Beef Birria tacos with consommé. All three were delicious but the Lamb was our favourite. We also got the Chicken Tinga Torta sandwich and the tres leches for dessert which were also great. Service was great and the all the food was served quickly. Definitely a great spot for amazing Birria tacos!

Love this spot!! Today was the third time I tried food from here and it was excellent! My favourite is the mushroom sopes but everything I’ve had here is always good. Lots of excellent veg options. I had churros on a previous occasion and they might be my favourite churros in the GTA. Brought home chips and guacamole for family today and they loved it too. Not sure about the regional focus of this spot but I visited Mexico City, Puebla, and Cholula a couple years ago and this spot always brings me back. Love the food!

Great Mexican food. Friendly and quick service. Good portions. We've tried the Birria tacos, chilaquiles verdes with chicken tinga and the pozole, all taste just like home. Specially their refried beans, almost as good as my mom's. Their horchata is also really good, not overly sweet and refreshing. It can be a bit pricy but their portions are very generous and food is simply delicious. They have a few tables to sit but mostly are for take out.

The service was fast the workers helped us out since this was our first time having mexican food. The atmosphere was cozy and warm, it was charming in its own way and felt homey. Now for the food we got the 5 birria tacos option. You can split up certain meats. So we did 3 lamb and 2 beef (I think it was lamb) and they were quite tasty, me and my brother personally liked the lamb option so if we come back we’ll get all 5 lamb. I split this with my brother and we’re 2 young men, and we both got quite full from the tacos. We also ordered the Horacha drink which is a Mexican drink I personally wasn’t the biggest fan but that’s just because of my tastebuds BUT it was still very refreshing
